This document provides testing methods to evaluate the energy performance, emissions, safety and durability of institutional cookstoves. For general guidance (not a requirement), institutional cookstoves typically have firepower greater than 10 kW and/or cooking vessel volume greater than 25 l. The evaluation of household cookstoves is covered in ISO19867-1 and ISO19869 and is not addressed in this document. This document provides the following: — quantitative and qualitative measurements of performance and safety of institutional cookstoves – methods include uncontrolled and controlled cooking tests; — guidance for the measurement of air pollution, and; — guidance for prioritizing measurements that balance comprehensiveness and feasibility. This document includes testing methods for energy performance, emissions and durability that are applicable to institutional cookstoves that burn solid, liquid, and gaseous fuels and for energy performance, safety and durability that are applicable to institutional cookstoves powered by solar thermal energy. Safety testing methods are applicable to institutional solar cookstoves and cookstoves that burn solid fuels and are not applicable to cookstoves that burn liquid or gaseous fuels, such as LPG (liquefied petroleum gas), alcohol, plant oil or kerosene. Safety evaluation of gas-fuelled cookstoves can be found in ISO 23550 and the ISO 23551 series. Safety evaluation of liquid-fuelled cookstoves is not found in existing ISO standards. This document is not applicable to electric cookstoves.

This document specifies acceptable criteria for microbiological cleanliness and adequacy of preservation of the specified toy materials. The requirements in this document apply to all toys that are, contain or are supplied with aqueous materials (e.g. paste, putty, liquid or gel). In addition, this document applies to toys that are or include a cosmetic (including those intended for use on a toy as well as on the child). Powders and similar substances intended to be mixed with water are also within the scope of this document. The cleanliness and preservation effectiveness requirements are applicable to a toy as it is initially received by the consumer in an unopened and undamaged container and do not apply after a toy is subjected to reasonably foreseeable conditions of normal use and abuse, unless specifically noted otherwise. The microbial limits and test methods contained in this document are inappropriate to apply to products that are consumer complaint returns, as there is no way to establish what conditions the toys have been subject to before being returned. The following are excluded from the scope of this document: — materials that are inaccessible during normal use or reasonably foreseeable abuse; — powder or powder-like materials intended to show biological phenomena, e.g. shrimp eggs, seeds, soil; — food.

IEC 60335-2-53:2011 deals with the safety of electric sauna heating appliances and infrared emitting units having a rated power input not exceeding 20 kW, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances. The appliances covered by this standard are intended for use in the home and in public saunas located in blocks of flats, hotels and similar locations. This standard also deals with the safety of electric sauna heating appliances provided with a humidifier unit, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V for single-phase appliances and 480 V for other appliances. The room air is humidified by evaporating or atomising water. This fourth edition cancels and replaces the third edition published in 2002 and its Amendment 1 (2007). It constitutes a technical revision. The principal changes in this edition as compared with the third edition of IEC 60335-2-53 are as follows:  - the scope is changed to cover infrared cabins;  - additional requirements for recessed sauna heaters are added;  - requirements of electronic interlocks are added (22.108).  The attention of National Committees is drawn to the fact that equipment organizations may need a transitional period following publication of a new, amended or revised IEC publication in which to make products in accordance with the new requirements and to equip themselves for conducting new or revised tests. It is the recommendation of the committee that the content of this publication be adopted for implementation nationally not earlier than 12 months or later than 36 months from the date of publication.   This publication is to be read in conjunction with IEC 60335-1:2010.

This document specifies a method for the assessment of the surface reflectance of furniture surfaces and relates to rigid surfaces of all finished products regardless of materials, except for finishes on leather and fabrics, which are excluded from this document.
The test is intended to be carried out on finished furniture, but can be carried out on test panels of the same material, finished in an identical manner to the finished product, and of a size sufficient to meet the requirements of the test.
The test method is not applicable to some metallic paints and pearly coatings.

This document specifies the requirements for cork floor coverings made from agglomerated composition cork, with or without a decorative surface layer, with or without applied colours, supplied in tile form which are designed to be used with a factory finish and/or an in situ finish.
The cork floor decorative surface layer can be made of cork or other bio-based decorative materials, e.g. wood or bamboo veneers, linoleum, leather or natural fibres.
This document includes a classification system based on intensity of use which shows where cork floor tiles with a factory finish can give satisfactory service (see EN ISO 10874). It also specifies requirements for marking, labelling and packing.
