This document specifies test methods for the strength and overload tests of connectors for furniture constructed from panel material and procedures for evaluating test results.
The document is specifically intended for assessing of cabinet connectors for carcases made of wood-based panel materials. The methods described can, however, be used to assess the relative performance of other types of connectors, e.g. some types of connectors for beds.
The strength and overload tests only apply to the connectors and their components, as well as the mounting to and in the cabinet carcase.  It does not apply to additional functions that the connector may have e.g. covering of the connector.
The tests described are carried according to a test setup with specified properties and characteristics.
The test results are only valid for the connector tested. The results can be used to represent the performance of production models, provided the tested model is representative of the production model.
Aging and the influences of temperature and humidity are not included. The standard contains four informative annexes, providing additional methodologies for the detailed evaluation of the test results, and a procedure for comparing the tested connector with a reference connector.
Annex A (informative) – Reference connector – Glued dowel
Annex B (informative) – Ratio generation
Annex C (informative) – Stiffness calculation for further evaluation of the overload
Annex D (informative) – Evaluation by the characteristic value (5% percentile)

This European Standard specifies safety requirements and test methods for workbenches for laboratories
including laboratory tables and gives recommendations for their dimensions.
This European Standard applies to workbenches, movable tables and workbench shelves designed for use in
research, educational, quality control and similar laboratories.
This European Standard does not apply to workbenches for pupils in scientific class rooms of schools. It does
not apply to workbenches for special purposes, e.g. for heavy diagnostic or processing machines.
It should be understood that fulfilling the requirements does not ensure that failure will not occur as a result of
habitual misuse or after an excessively long period of service. The tests are designed to be applied to a standalone
workbench that is fully assembled and ready for use.
Requirements and test methods related to the fire safety of workbenches and to the resistance of the work
surface are not included in this European Standard.

This European Standard specifies requirements for the safety of children's cot bumpers used in the children's sleeping environment (i.e. not under supervision) when sleeping in a cot or similar product (e.g. crib/cradle) in which a child is contained.
NOTE   The informative Annex C lists topics of further investigation which might lead to necessary improvement of the safety requirements of cot bumpers.
If a part of the children's cot bumpers is designed to offer additional function (e.g. play function), this part will, in addition to the following requirements, be subjected to safety requirements related to relevant standards (see A.1).

This document specifies test methods for the verification of the loading capacity of all types of wall attachment devices for storage furniture and their components.
It does not apply to devices intended to prevent the overturning of storage furniture.
The tests consist of the application of loads and forces simulating normal functional use, as well as misuse that might reasonably be expected to occur.
With the exception of the corrosion test in 6.3, the tests are designed to evaluate properties without regard to materials, design/construction or manufacturing processes.
The tests can be applied to the part attached to the furniture alone or to the combination of the part attached to the furniture and the part attached to the wall. The attachment into the wall is not included.
The strength tests are carried out in a test frame with specified properties.
The test results are only valid for the devices tested. These results can be used to represent the performance of production model, provided that the tested model is representative of the production model.
With the exception of the corrosion test, ageing and influences of temperature and humidity are not included.
Annex A (normative) includes requirements for product information.
Annex B (informative) includes a method for the determination of loading capacity.
Annex C (informative) includes an approximate calculation of vertical and horizontal forces.

This European Standard specifies safety requirements for cribs (including cradles, suspended baby beds and bedside sleepers) for domestic and non-domestic use with an internal length of the base less than or equal to 900 mm used to lay young babies for sleeping until they are able to sit unaided, or push up on its hands and knees. Products that can be converted into other items may be covered by other relevant European standards.
Electrical safety is not covered in this standard.
This standard does not cover cribs used for medical purposes.
Mattresses provided with the crib are not covered by this standard.

IEC 60335-2-116:2019 deals with the safety of furniture with electrically motorized parts intended for household and similar purposes, their rated voltage being not more than 250 V.
Furniture incorporating electrically motorised parts not intended for normal household use but which nevertheless may be a source of danger to the public, such as furniture intended to be used by laymen in shops, offices, hotels, restaurants, cinemas, hospitals, schools, in light industry and on farms, are within the scope of this standard.
Examples of furniture incorporating electrically motorised parts, are
– electrically operated/height adjustable tables and desks;
– electrically operated/adjustable stands and wall attachment for e.g.TV sets and monitors;
– electrically operated/adjustable seating;
– beds with incorporated ventilators and filters;
– electrically operated/adjustable beds;
– electrically operated/adjustable storage units including kitchen units;
– electrically operated/adjustable furniture intended to be secured to the wall or ceiling;
– electrically operated extension elements (drawers and doors);
– electric check-out furniture in hotels and shops;
– furniture delivered in parts (ready to assemble or knock-down furniture).
This standard deals with the reasonably foreseeable hazards presented by furniture incorporating electrically motorised parts that are encountered by all persons. However, in general, it does not take into account
– persons whose physical, sensory or mental capabilities; or lack of experience and knowledge prevents them from using the furniture incorporating electric appliances, parts or components safely without supervision or instruction;
– children playing with furniture incorporating electrically motorised parts.
Attention is drawn to the fact that
– for furniture incorporating electrically motorised parts intended to be used in vehicles or on board ships or aircraft, additional requirements can be necessary;
– in many countries, additional requirements are specified by the national health authorities, the national authorities responsible for the protection of labour, the national authorities for fire protection and similar authorities.
This standard does not apply to
– furniture containing heating elements;
– electrically operated hospital beds (IEC 60601-2-52);
– electrical wheel chairs;
– special furniture incorporating electric appliances, parts or components, which are part of industrial production equipment;
– cupboards for building in appliances like a dishwasher;
– electric child care articles except electrical height adjustable changing (nursing) tables;
– furniture especially for use by children;
– furniture for outdoor use.
This standard only covers the risks associated with electrically motorized parts when operated as in normal use taking into account the manufacturer's instructions. It also covers abnormal situations that can be expected in practice and takes into account the way in which electromagnetic phenomena can affect the safe operation of such appliances. It does not cover risks associated with furniture containing heating elements.
Other safety aspects of furniture with and without electrically motorised parts are covered by the standards developed by ISO TC 136.
This part 2 is to be used in conjunction with the latest edition of IEC 60335-1 and its amendments. It was established on the basis of the fifth edition (2010) of that standard.
