This document specifies a safety information system for tanks made by combining several elements onto a single marking to communicate health and hazard safety information and information in case of an emergency for the purpose of accident prevention. The organization's risk assessment will determine when and where this safety information system for tanks will be used. Possible applications include, but are not limited to: — markings installed on or near fixed above-ground tanks; — markings installed on portable tanks; — markings installed on or near tanks used in production facilities, marine structures and ships; — markings posted on or near interchangeable containers with fixed connection; — markings installed on or near overground elements of underground tanks. This document establishes additional principles to ISO 3864-1 for the purpose of establishing design principles for the display of safety information on tanks typically found in workplaces, industry and other facilities with tanks and containers. It covers safety information for tanks only. It is not intended for use on products. This document does not cover tanks that are moved or transported. It does not apply to the labelling according to the United Nations' Globally harmonized system of classification and labelling of chemicals (GHS). Safety signing of the hazards in an area is not part of this document.

IEC TR 60878:2022 provides a compilation, for easy reference, of graphical symbols (graphics, title, description) and safety signs for medical electrical equipment. The graphical symbols are grouped in sections according to their specific field of application (see Clause 4).
IEC TR 60878:2022 cancels and replaces the third edition published in 2015. This fourth edition constitutes a technical revision.
The main changes compared with IEC TR 60878:2015 are as follows:
• A total of 109 new symbols and safety signs that have been identified since the publication of the third edition have been added. For identification, the number of the new symbol or safety sign is printed in red followed by “New”.
• Of the symbols and safety signs in the third edition, 14 have changes in their title or description. For identification, the number of a modified symbol or safety sign is printed in red followed by “Mod”.
The contents of the corrigendum of February 2023 have been included in this copy.

IEC 62648:2022 is available as IEC 62648:2022 RLV which contains the International Standard and its Redline version, showing all changes of the technical content compared to the previous edition.
IEC 62648:2022 document provides guidelines to help ensure that the requirement in ISO/IEC Directives, Part 2:2021, 28.6.2 is met, such that graphical symbols for use on equipment in IEC product publications are consistent with the requirements of horizontal publications IEC 60417, and ISO 7000. This document is intended to be used by any IEC and ISO committees to develop graphical symbols for use on equipment for inclusion in their product publications. This document is based on and develops upon IEC Guide 108:2019, Clause 8. For the creation of new graphical symbols for use on equipment, IEC 80416-1 and ISO 80416 2 are applied. For the application of standardized graphical symbols for use on equipment, IEC 80416-3 and ISO 80416-4 are applied. This horizontal publication is primarily intended for use by committees in the preparation of publications in accordance with the principles laid down in IEC Guide 108. One of the responsibilities of a committee is, wherever applicable, to make use of horizontal publications in the preparation of its publications. The contents of this horizontal publication will not apply unless specifically referred to or included in the relevant publications. IEC 62648:2022 cancels and replaces the first edition published in 2012 and Amendment 1:2015. This edition constitutes a technical revision. This edition includes the following significant technical changes with respect to the previous edition:
a) new terms and definitions in IEC Guide 108 have been incorporated;
b) the designation "IEC 60417 SDB" has been introduced following the publication of IEC Supplement:2022, Annex SK;
