Furniture - Foldaway beds - Safety requirements and testing - Part 2: Test methods
Describes test methods that assess the safety of foldaways beds (hereafter referred to as "beds") for domestic use. The test are designed to be applied to a foldaway bed that is fully assembled and ready for use. The test results are only valid for the article tested. When the test results are intended to be applied to other, similar articles, the test specimen should be representative of the production model. In the case of designs not catered for in the test procedures, the test should be carried out as far as possible as described, and a list made of the deviations from the test procedure.

PrEN 1129-2 legt Prüfverfahren zur Beurteilung der Sicherheit von Klappbetten (im folgenden kurz Betten) im hauslichen Gebrauch fest. Faltbetten, Campingliegen, Schlafcouchen oder in Betten unwandelbare Sessel oder Sofas werden in dieser Norm nicht behandelt. Die Prüfungen sind an einem vollstandig montierten und gebrauchsfertien Klappbett durchzuführen. Die Prüfergebnisse gelten nur für den gepruften Gegenstand. Falls die Prüfergebnisse auf andere gleichartige Gegenstande angewendet werden sollen, dann sollte das Prüfmuster reprasentativ für das Produktionsmodell sein.

La présente partie du prEN 1129-2 spécifie des méthodes d'essai qui assurent la sécurité des lits rabattables (appelés dans la suite du texte "lits") a usage domestique. La présente norme ne s'applique pas aux lits pliants, aux lits de camp, aux lits/fauteuils convertibles ou canapés. Les essais doivent etre appliqués sur un lit rabattable completement assemblé et pret a l'emploi. Les résultats d'essai ne sont valables que pour l'article essayé. Lorsque les résultats d'essais sont destinés a etre appliqués a d'autres articles similaires, l'échant. essayé devrait etre représentatif du modele en production
