Cranes - Offshore cranes - Part 1: General-purpose offshore cranes

This European Standard specifies the requirements for general-purpose offshore cranes including their supporting pedestals or structures and lifting of personnel.
The standard applies to cranes manufactured after the date of issue.
This European Standard does not cover the hazards involved with or the use of the following:
a)   fabrication, transportation, assembly, dismantling, disabling, scrapping or changing the configuration of the crane;
b)   lifting accessories, i.e. any item between the hook and the load;
c)   design temperature below – 40°C;
d)   operations at an ambient temperature above 40°C;
e)   lifting operations involving more than one crane;
f)   accidental loads due to collisions;
g)   hand powered cranes and other cranes with a rated capacity less than 2 t or outreach less than 8 meters
h)   rescue operations;
i)   subsea lifting operations.
The significant hazards covered by this European standard are identified in Clause 4.
Where National Authorities permit the use of general-purpose offshore crane for the lifting of personnel, the crane would at least need to fulfil the requirements of this standard.

Krane - Offshore-Krane - Teil 1: Offshore-Krane für allegemeine Verwendung

Diese Europäische Norm legt die Anforderungen an Offshore-Krane für allgemeine Verwendung einschließlich
ihrer Tragsäulen und Fundamente fest.
Diese Norm ist auf Krane anzuwenden, die nach dem Datum der Herausgabe dieser Norm hergestellt
werden.
Diese Europäische Norm gilt nicht für Gefahren in Verbindung mit Folgendem:
a) Herstellung, Transport, Montage, Demontage, Unbrauchbarmachung, Verschrottung oder Rüstzustandsänderung
des Krans;
b) Lastaufnahmemittel, d. h. alle Teile zwischen dem Haken und der Last;
c) Entwurfstemperaturen unter −40 °C;
d) Arbeiten bei Umgebungstemperaturen über 40 °C;
e) Hebearbeiten mit mehr als einem Kran;
f) unbeabsichtigte Beanspruchungen aufgrund von Zusammenstößen;
g) handgetriebene Krane und sonstige Krane mit einer Tragfähigkeit von weniger als 2 t oder einer
Ausladung von weniger als 8 m;
h) Rettungsmaßnahmen;
i) Unterwasser-Hebearbeiten.
Die durch diese Europäische Norm erfassten wesentlichen Gefahren sind in Abschnitt 4 aufgeführt.
Wenn nationale Behörden den Einsatz eines Offshore-Kranes für allgemeine Verwendung für den Transport
von Personal erlauben, muss der Kran mindestens die Anforderungen dieser Norm erfüllen.

Le présent document s'applique aux grues off-shore d'usage général à structure en acier.
Le présent document spécifie les prescriptions relatives à l'ensemble des phénomènes dangereux, situations dangereuses et événements dangereux majeurs relatifs aux grues off-shore d'usage général, pour le transport de marchandises et le levage de personnes, lorsque celles-ci sont utilisées comme prévu et dans les conditions prévues par l'évaluation du risque (voir Article 4).
Le présent document s'applique aux grues off-shore d'usage général fabriquées après la date d'approbation du présent document par le CEN.
Le présent document ne s'applique pas :
a)   au transport, au montage, au démontage, à la mise au rebut ou à l'installation de la grue ;
b)   à tout élément fixé au crochet, tel que les charges, les accessoires de levage de charge amovibles, les accessoires de levage, les nacelles, les supports et les conteneurs ;
c)   aux opérations de levage à des températures ambiantes inférieures à - 20 °C ;
d)   aux opérations de levage à des températures ambiantes supérieures à 45 °C ;
e)   aux charges accidentelles résultant de collisions, de tremblements de terre, d'explosions, etc., qui ne sont pas couvertes par les charges exceptionnelles définies dans le Tableau B.7 ;
f)   aux grues flottantes (couvertes par l'EN 13852-2), aux grues off-shore légères (couvertes par FprEN 13852-3) et aux grues à compensation de mouvement 2D/3D ;
g)   aux opérations de levage sous-marines ;
h)   aux opérations de levage impliquant plus d'un appareil de levage à charge suspendue ;
i)   aux opérations de sauvetage (hors entraînement).

Introduction
This European Standard has been prepared to be a harmonised standard to provide one means for
general-purpose offshore cranes to conform to the essential health and safety requirements of the Machinery
Directive, as mentioned in Annex ZA.
Absolute safety of cranes cannot be ensured by design alone, as their operation depends on the skill of
operators, maintenance personnel and inspectors as well as on the numerous technical parameters relating to
