Področje projekta (angleško): This standard applies to chain or belt slotting machines, to be used in open or underground quarries. Chain or belt slotting machines are used for cutting marble, granite and other stones loose or at the face. They can be stationary or can be moved on rails during work. An electric prime motor supplies the drive pulley for tool motion. The machines are equipped with one main sawing head. This European Standard does not apply to multi-axis machines and does not cover the difficulties arising from the geomorphology of the stone to be cut. This standard deals with all significant hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to chain and belt slotting machines, when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable by the manufacturer (see clause 4). This European Standard specifies the appropriate technical measures to be taken in order to eliminate or reduce risks arising from significant hazards. This European Standard covers electrical hazard making reference to the relevant European Standards. Hazards that are relevant to mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic components and to other machinery equipment and that are dealt with in general use standards are not covered by this European Standard. Reference to standards relevant to this kind of machines is made where such standards are applicable and as far as necessary. This European Standard does not establish requirements for: a) operation in severe conditions (e. g. low and very high temperatures, corrosive environment, etc.); b) operation in potentially explosive atmospheres; c) supply by electrical networks with voltages, frequencies, tolerances etc different from those of public suppliers; d) cordless remote controls. This standard does not cover hazards relevant to noise.
