Flame supervision devices for gas burning appliances - Thermo-electric flame supervision devices

This standard specifies the safety, constructional and performance requirements for thermo-electric flame supervision devices, energized by a thermocouple, hereafter referred to as devices, intended for use with gas appliances. It also gives the test procedures for evaluating these requirements and information necessary for the purchaser and user.  This standard applies to devices of nominal connection size up to and including DN 50 for use with one or more fuel gases of the 1st, 2nd or 3rd families.   This standard does not cover the thermocouple.

Diese Norm legt Anforderungen an die Sichereit sowie Bau- und Funktionsanforder ungen an thermoelektrische Zündsicherungen für Gasgeräte, nachstehend Zündsicherungen genannt, fest, die auf Thermo-Elemente mit einer Warmlötstelle ansprechen. Sie beschreibt auch die Prüfverfahren, nach denen die Einhaltung dieser Anforderungen beurteilt wird, und nennt die für den Käufer und Anwender erforderlichen Informationen.

La présente norme précise les spécifications de sécurité, de construction et de fonctionnement des dispositifs thermo-électriques de sécurité a l'allumage et a l'extinction et a commande par un thermocouple, dénommés ci-apres "dispositifs", destinés a etre utilisés avec des appareils d'utilisation des combustibles gazeux. Elle donne aussi les procédures d'essais permettant de vérifier la conformité a ces exigences ainsi que les informations nécessaires a l'acheteur et a l'utilisateur.

This European Standard specifies the terminology, the general requirements for the construction and operation of forced draught gas burners and also the provision of control and safety devices, and the test procedure for these burners.
This European Standard is applicable to:
-   automatic gas burners with a combustion air fan (hereinafter called "burners") and gas line components, intended for use in appliances of different types, and that are operated with gaseous fuels;
-   pre mixed burners and nozzle mixed burners;
-   single burners with a single combustion chamber;
-   single fuel and dual fuel burners when operating only on gas;
-   the gas function of dual-fuel burners designed to operate simultaneously on gaseous and liquid fuels, which, for the latter, the requirements of EN 267 also apply.
This European Standard deals with all significant machine hazards, hazardous situations and events relevant to burners, when they are used as intended and under conditions of misuse which are reasonably foreseeable, see Annex J.
This European Standard specifies the requirements to ensure the safety during commissioning, start-up, operation, shut-down and maintenance.
This European Standard does not apply to burners specifically designed for use in industrial processes carried out on industrial premises.
This European Standard deals also with the additional requirements for the burners in the scope with pressurised parts and /or firing pressurised bodies, see Annex K.
This European Standard deals also with forced draught burners intended to be used with biogenous gaseous fuels, mixtures with line-conveyed gas and special gaseous fuels.

This European Standard is also applicable to regulators incorporating safety devices.
NOTE 1   For safety accessories and pressure accessories, the requirements of EN 13611:2000, Annex F also apply.
