Hand-held non-electric power tools - Safety requirements - Part 9: Die grinders
The standard, EN 792, applies to non-electric hand-held power tools intended to be used in operation by one person using one or both hands, where the weight of the power tool is supported by the operator or by a harness or suspended e.g. by a balancer. The power tools driven by rotary or linear motors powered by compressed air, hydraulic fluid or gaseous or liquid fuel or stored energy (e.g. by a string). Electrically driven tools are not intended. The standard lists the significant hazards caused by hand-held power tools.

Diese Norm, EN 792, gilt für handgehaltene, nicht-elektrisch betriebene Maschinen, die dazu bestimmt sind, beim Arbeiten von einer Person mit einer oder beiden Händen gehalten zu werden. Dabei wird das Gewicht der Maschine von der Bedienperson getragen oder kann von einer Halterung oder z.B. durch eine Aufhängevorrichtung aufgenommen werden. Die Maschinen werden durch Motore mit drehender oder linearen Bewegung angetrieben. Die Engergie kann aus Druckluft, über Hydraulikflüssigkeit, gasförmigen oder flüssigen Brennstoffen oder gespeicherter Energie, wie z.B. gespannten Federn, bezogen werden.

La norme EN 792 s'applique aux machines portatives non électriques prévues pour etre utilisées par une seule personne a l'aide d'une ou de deux mains; la machine portative est portée par l'opérateur, éventuellement a l'aide d'un harnais, ou est suspendue, par exemple a l'aide d'un équilibreur. Les machines portatives sont entraînées par des moteurs rotatifs ou linéaires, alimentés par air comprimé, fluide hydraulique, carburants gazeux ou liquides ou énergie stockée (par exemple par un ressort). Les machines portatives électriques sont exclues.
