Specifies a method for the determination of the apparent density of a moulding powder or a granular material. The sample is pured through a specified funnel into a measuring cylinder of 100 cubiccentimeter capacity, the excess is removed with a straightedge and the mass of the contents is determinded by weighing. Expression of the apparent density in grams per millilitre.

Die vorliegende Internationale Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Schüttdichte, d.h. der Masse pro Volumeneinheit von Formmassen aus Pulvern oder Körnern, die durch einen gegebenen Trichter abfließen können, fest.

La présente Norme internationale spécifie une méthode de détermination de la masse volumique apparente, c'est-à-dire la masse par unité de volume, des matières en poudre ou en granulés, susceptibles de s'écouler à travers un entonnoir d'un modèle déterminé.
NOTE - Pour une méthode de détermination de la masse volumIque apparente des matières à mouler non susceptibles de s'écouler à travers un entonnoir donné, voir ISO 61. Lorsque cette méthode est appliquée à des matières composées de grains relativement gros, des résultats variables peuvent être obtenus, dus à l'erreur introduite lorsque le sommet du cylindre est arasé avec une lame à bord rectiligne. La connaissance de la masse volumique apparente ne peut servir à comparer l'expansion ou le foisonnement de matières à mouler que si leur densité à l'état moulé est approximativement la même.

ßOREWORD
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation
of national Standards institutes (EO member bodies). The work of developing
International Standards is carried out through SS0 technical committees. Every
member body interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been set
up has the right to be represented on that committee. lnternational organizations,
governmental and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated
to the member bodies for approval before their acceptance as International
Standards by the ISO Council.
ISO 60 was developed by Technical Committee
International Standard
ISO/TC 6 1, Plastics.
This second edition was submitted directly to the ISO Council, in accordance
with clause 6.12.1 of the Directives for the technical work of ISO. lt cancels
and replaces the first edition (i.e. ISO 60- ‘l976), which had been approved by the
member bodies of the following countries :
