This standard applies to aerodynamics for railway applications. It defines symbols and units used in formulae and calculations in the field of aerodynamics. The definitions given in this standard explain the symbols and classify the units.

Diese Norm gilt für die Aerodynamik im Eisenbahnbereich.
Sie legt Formelzeichen und Einheiten, die in Formeln und Berechnungen verwendet werden fest. Die in dieser Norm aufgeführten Definitionen der physikalischen Größen dienen zur Erklärung der Formelzeichen und zur Zuordnung der Einheiten.
Diese Norm enthält neben den am meisten verwendeten Formelzeichen die Einheiten, die für Berechnungen Anwendung finden. Zu beachten ist, daß gleiche Formelzeichen in anderen Sachgebieten mit anderer Bedeutung vorkommen können.
Bei Verwendung darüber hinausgehender Formelzeichen sind diese von Fall zu Fall zu erklären.

La présente Norme européenne s'applique a l'aérodynamique ferroviaire.
Elle définit les symboles et unités utilisés dans les formules et calculs dans le domaine de l'aérodynamique. Les définitions données dans le présente Norme explique les symboles et classe les unités.
Outre les symboles usuels, ce document contient des symboles utilisés pour les calculs. Il convient de noter tout de meme que ces symboles peuvent avoir différentes significations en fonction de leur application.
Il convient de définir des symboles complémentaires en fonction de l'application.
