Foreword
IS0 (the International- Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide federation of
national standards bodies (IS0 member bodies). The work of developing International
Standards is carri‘ed out through IS0 technical committees. Every member body
interested in a subject for which a technical committee has been authorized has the
right to be represented on that committee. International organizations, governmental
and non-governmental, in liaison with ISO, also take part in the work.
Draft International Standards adopted by the technical committees are circulated to
the member bodies for approval before their acceptance as International Standards by
the IS0 Council.
International Standard IS0 887 was developed by Technical Committee ISO/TC 2,
Fasteners, and was circulated to the member bodies in December 1981.

1 Scope and field of application
This International Standard lays down the specification for the full range of plain washers of product grades A and C for bolts, screws
and nuts with thread sizes from M 1 to M 150 inclusive.
This International Standard does not apply to washers for preassembled bolts and screws as far as the hole diameters are concerned.
NOTE - Washers for structural bolting will be incorporated into this International Standard as soon as agreement has been reached.

1 Objet et domaine d'application
La présente Norme internationale fixe la gamme complète des rondelles plates, de grades A et C pour boulons, vis et écrous de
diamètre nominal de filetage M 1 à M 150 inclus.
La présente Norme internationale n'est pas applicable aux rondelles pour boulons et vis préassemblés pour ce qui est des diamètres de
trous de passage.
NOTE - Les rondelles pour la boulonnerie de constructions métalliques seront incorporées à la présente Norme internationale dès qu'un accord axa
été conclu.
