This standard specifies methods for determining the resistance to external blows of thermoplastics by using the staircase method. This method is not applicable to perforated pipes. The method is intended to be applied for pipe testing at 0°C. When necessary the method can be applied at -20 °C or +23 °C.

Diese Norm legt ein Verfahren zur Bestimmung der Widerstandsfähigkeit von Rohren mit kreisförmigem Querschnitt aus Thermoplasten gegen äußere Schlagbeanspruchung im Stufenverfahren (staircase method) fest. Dieses Verfahren ist vorgesehen für die Prüfung von Rohren bei O °C. Falls erforderlich, kann das Verfahren auch bei -20 °C oder +23 °C angewendet werden.

Cette norme prescrit une méthode pour déterminer la résistance aux chocs externes des tubes thermoplastiques en utilisant la méthode en escalier. Cette méthode n'est pas applicable aux tubes perforés. Cette méthode est prévue pour des essais de tube a 0°C. Si nécessaire, la méthode peut etre appliquée a -20 °C ou a +23 °C.
