escalators and moving walks”, the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.

The reason for the revision of CEN/TR 115-3 was the publication of EN 115-1:2017. CEN/TR 115-3:2009
compared EN 115-1:1995, including amendments A1 and A2, with EN 115-1:2008. CEN/TR 115-3:2017
compares EN 115-1:2017 with EN 115-1:2008+A1:2010.

This Technical Report has been prepared to allow the user to compare the existing standard
EN 115-1:2017 with the EN 115-1:2008+A1:2010 and vice versa.

1 Scope
This Technical Report applies to escalators and moving walks built in accordance with EN 115-1:2017.
2 Normative references
The following documents, in whole or in part, are normatively referenced in this document and are
indispensable for its application. For dated references, only the edition cited applies. For undated
references, the latest edition of the referenced document (including any amendments) applies.

3 Terms and definitions
For the purposes of this document, the terms and definitions given in EN 115-1:2017 and
EN 115-1:2008+A1:2010 apply.
4 List of significant hazards
For the purpose of this document, the list of significant hazards given in EN 115-1:2017 and
EN 115-1:2008+A1:2010 apply.
5 Correlation between EN 115-1:2017 and EN 115-1:2008+A1:2010 and vice
versa
This Technical Report is presented in the form of two tables. Table 1 provides a correlation between
EN 115-1:2008+A1:2010 and EN 115-1:2017 based upon the chronological clause references of
EN 115-1:2008+A1:2010. Table 2 provides a similar correlation but using EN 115-1:2017 as the base
document for comparison.
Each clause is cross-referenced to its equivalent clause and the table illustrates the status of the text or
requirement. Guidance is given on whether the clause has remained unchanged, is modified, is new or
has been deleted.
Where appropriate a short explanation is given in the “Remarks” column to highlight changes and new
requirements contained in the revision of EN 115-1:2017.
