Leisure accommodation vehicles - Caravan holiday homes - Habitation requirements relating to health and safety

This European Standard specifies requirements intended to ensure safety and health of persons using caravan holiday homes as defined in EN 13878, as temporary or seasonal accommodation.
It specifies grades of resistance to snow loads and the stability of the structure of caravan holiday homes as well as the minimum information to be included in a user's handbook.
It also specifies the corresponding test methods.

Sie legt die Festigkeitsklassen gegen Schneelasten und die Stabilität des Aufbaus von Mobilheimen sowie die Mindestangaben, die in einem Benutzerhandbuch enthalten sein müssen, fest.
Sie legt auch die entsprechenden Prüfverfahren fest.

La présente Norme européenne spécifie les exigences destinées à assurer la sécurité et protéger la santé des personnes utilisant des résidences mobiles telles que définies dans l’EN 13878, comme logements temporaires ou saisonniers.
Elle définit les classes de résistance aux charges de neige et indique les conditions à respecter pour assurer la stabilité de la structure des résidences mobiles, ainsi que les informations minimales devant figurer dans le livret de l’usager.
Elle spécifie également les méthodes d’essai correspondantes.

This document (EN 1647:2018+A1:2021) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 245
“Leisure accommodation vehicles”, the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR.
This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an
identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by February 2022, and conflicting national standards
shall be withdrawn at the latest by February 2022.
Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of
patent rights. CEN shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights.
This document includes Amendment 1 approved by CEN on 18 May 2021.
This document supersedes !EN 1647:2018".

1 Scope
This European Standard specifies requirements intended to ensure safety and health of persons using
caravan holiday homes as defined in EN 13878, as temporary or seasonal accommodation.

4 Testing
The tests described in Annexes A to K are intended to verify that a caravan holiday home representative
of a given model, including its fixtures and fittings, meets the requirements of this European Standard.
These tests are intended to simulate the most onerous conditions, for the relevant characteristics.
