Foreword
ISO (the International Organization for Standardization) is a worldwide
federation of national standards bodies (ISO member bodies). The work of

This second edition cancels and replaces the first edition (ISO 8734:1987),
which has been technically revised.

1 Scope
This International Standard specifies the characteristics of parallel pins (dowel pins) of steel, through hardened
or case hardened and martensitic stainless steel with nominal diameters, d, from 1 mm to 20 mm inclusive.
