Particleboards - Specifications - Part 2: Requirements for general purpose boards for use in dry conditions

This European Standard specifies the requirements for general purpose boards foruse in dry contitions. Additional information on supplementary properties for certain applications is also given. Particleboards in accordance with this standard may be referred to as P2-boards. This standard does not give requirements for Oriented Strand Boards (OSB); these are set out in EN 300. This standard does not apply to extruded particleboards.

Diese Europäische Norm legt Anforderungen an Platten für allgemeine Zwecke zur Verwendung im Trockenbereich fest. Sie enthält auch zusätzliche Informationen über weitere Eigenschaften für bestimmte Verwendungßwecke. Spanplatten nach dieser Norm dürfen als P2-Platten bezeichnet werden. Diese Norm enthält keine Anforderungen für Platten aus langen, schlanken, ausgerichteten Spänen (OSB); diese sind in EN 300 enthalten. Diese Norm gilt nicht für Strangpreßplatten.

Elle donne également des informations additionnelles sur des caractéristiques complémentaires utiles pour certaines applications. Les panneaux de particules en accord avec la présente norme peuvent avoir la référence panneaux P2. La présente norme ne donne pas les exigences pour les panneaux de lamelles longues, minces et orientées (OSB) qui se trouvent en EN 300. La présente norme ne s'applique pas aux panneaux extrudés.

CEN/TS 16368 specifies the requirements for uncoated particleboards for use in dry conditions in non load-bearing applications with density below 600 kg/m3. This Technical Specification applies to particleboard which is mostly homogenous and continuous in its composition and which does not contain hollow spaces, chambers or other type of cavities which can be encountered as honeycombs in sandwich panels or as tubes in extruded boards. This Technical Specification does not give requirements for extruded particleboards (see EN 14755), flaxboards (see EN 15197) and sandwich panels.
