Bitumen and bituminous binders - Terminology
EN 12597 defines terms for paving or industrial bitumen of various types and binders derived from bitumen. This European Standard is intended to cover materials only within the scope of CEN/TC 336, i.e. only bitumens and bituminous binders. It should consequently not extend to non-petroleum “hydrocarbon” binders such as coal tar and its derivatives or to natural asphalts. However, some definitions are given for some excluded materials and related terms. The corresponding terms were introduced only when they appeared in a definition of a product or process and when their definition was found necessary for understanding or for avoiding any ambiguity.

Diese Europäische Norm definiert Begriffe für Straßenbau- oder Industriebitumen verschiedener Sorten und für bitumenhaltige Bindemittel.
Diese Norm soll nur Materialien innerhalb des Bereichs des CEN/TC 336 umfassen, z. B. nur Bitumen und bitumenhaltige Bindemittel. Folglich sollte sie nicht auf „Kohlenwasserstoff“-Bindemittel, die nicht auf Mineralöl basieren wie Steinkohlenteer und seine Derivate oder Naturasphalte ausgedehnt werden. Jedoch werden einige Begriffe für einige ausgeschlossene Materialien und verwandte Begriffe angegeben. Die entsprechenden Begriffe wurden nur eingeführt, wenn sie in der Benennung eines Produkts oder Prozesses erschienen und wenn ihre Definition zum Verständnis oder zur Vermeidung von Mehrdeutigkeiten als notwendig erachtet wurde.
Die in dieser Europäischen Norm behandelten Produkte sind schematisch in Bild 1 dargestellt.
ANMERKUNG Dieses Bild zeigt auch einen deutlichen Unterschied zwischen Materialien innerhalb und außerhalb des Anwendungsbereichs des CEN/TC 336.

La présente Norme européenne donne les définitions des termes utilisés pour les bitumes à usages routiers ou industriels et les liants dérivés du bitume.
Cette Norme n'est censée aborder que les matériaux couverts par le domaine d'application du CEN/TC 336, c'est-à-dire les bitumes et liants bitumineux. Par conséquent elle n’est pas censée s’appliquer aux liants « hydrocarbonés » non pétroliers, tels que le goudron et ses dérivés, et les asphaltes naturels. Néanmoins, certaines définitions sont données pour des matériaux qui ne sont pas inclus dans le domaine d'application. Les termes correspondants ont été introduits seulement lorsqu'ils apparaissent dans la définition d'un produit ou d'un procédé ou lorsque leur définition a paru nécessaire pour la compréhension ou pour éviter toute ambiguïté.

EN 12597 določa pogoje za tlakovanje ali industrijske bitumne različnih vrst ter bitumenska veziva. Ta evropski standard je namenjen obravnavanju materialov, ki sodijo na področje uporabe CEN/TC 336, tj. samo bitumnov in bitumenskih veziv. Zato ne obravnava nenaftnih ogljikovodikovih veziv, kot so premogov katran in njegovi derivati ali naravni asfalt. Kljub temu so vključene definicije za nekatere izključene materiale in z njimi povezane izraze. Ustrezni izrazi so bili vstavljeni samo v primerih, ko so se pojavljali v definiciji proizvoda ali procesa in ko je bila njihova definicija potrebna za razumevanje ali da bi se izognili dvoumnosti.

Bitumen and bituminous binders - Terminology La présente Norme européenne a été adoptée par le CEN le 28 février 2014.

EN 12597:2014 (E/F/D) 3 Foreword This document (EN 12597:2014) has been prepared by Technical Committee CEN/TC 336 “Bituminous binders”, the secretariat of which is held by AFNOR. This European Standard shall be given the status of a national standard, either by publication of an identical text or by endorsement, at the latest by November 2014 and conflicting national standards shall be withdrawn at the latest by November 2014. Attention is drawn to the possibility that some of the elements of this document may be the subject of patent rights. CEN [and/or CENELEC] shall not be held responsible for identifying any or all such patent rights. This document supersedes EN 12597:2000. The main changes from EN 12597:2000 are as follows: — Introduction of a few definitions for binder, air-rectified bitumen, multigrade bitumen, bio-fluxed bitumen and carbochemical fluxed bitumen. Le présent projet de Norme européenne est soumis aux membres du CEN pour enquête. Il a été établi par le Comité Technique CEN/TC
336.

Dieser Europäische Norm-Entwurf wird den CEN-Mitgliedern zur Umfrage vorgelegt. Er wurde vom Technischen Komitee CEN/TC 336
erstellt.
Wenn aus diesem Norm-Entwurf eine Europäische Norm wird, sind die CEN-Mitglieder gehalten, die CEN-Geschäftsordnung zu erfüllen, in
der die Bedingungen festgelegt sind, unter denen dieser Europäischen Norm ohne jede Änderung der Status einer nationalen Norm zu
geben ist.
Dieser Europäische Norm-Entwurf wurde vom CEN in drei offiziellen Fassungen (Deutsch, Englisch, Französisch) erstellt. Eine Fassung in
einer anderen Sprache, die von einem CEN-Mitglied in eigener Verantwortung durch Übersetzung in seine Landessprache gemacht und
dem Management-Zentrum des CEN-CENELEC mitgeteilt worden ist, hat den gleichen Status wie die offiziellen
