Biotechnology - Large scale process and production - Guidance for the handling, inactivating and testing of waste
This European Standard gives guidance on the assessment and the selection of procedures for treatment of waste process microorganisms from biotechnological plant to ensure the safety of people and environment. This European Standard applies to wastes and effluents (solid, liquid and gaseous) emitted from biotechnological processes which include traditional processes such as brewing or food processing, fermentation of pharmaceutical and chemical products as well as biotechnological processes for environmental and agricultural application.

Diese Europäische Norm gibt eine Anleitung zur Bewertung und Auswahl von Verfahren zur Behandlung von Produktionsmikroorganismen enthaltendem Abfall aus biotechnischen Anlagen, um die Sicherheit von Personen und der Umwelt zu schützen. Diese Europäische Norm gilt für Abfälle und Stoffströme (fest, flüssig und gasförmig), die bei biotechnischen Verfahren anfallen, einschließlich traditioneller Verfahren, wie Brauen oder Lebensmittelverarbeitung, Fermentation von pharmazeutischen und chemischen Produkten sowie biotechnischer Verfahren für Anwendungen in der Umwelt.

La présente norme donne des indications sur l'évaluation et le choix des procédures de traitement des déchets contenant des microorganismes d'intéret industriel issus d'une installation biotechnologique afin de garantir la sécurité des personnes et de l'environnement. Cette norme européenne s'applique aux déchets et aux effluents (solides, liquides et gazeux) produits au cours des procédés biotechnologiques qui comprennent aussi bien les procédés traditionnels tels que le brassage ou la production alimentaire, la fermentation pour obtenir des produits pharmaceutiques ou chimiques...
