This European Standard applies to cast iron pipeline components used for the construction of discharge systems for buildings and of drains, normally as gravity systems. The range of nominal sizes extends from DN 40 to DN 600 inclusive. This standard specifies the requirements for the materials, dimensions and tolerances, mechanical properties, appearance, standard coatings and quality assurance for cast iron pipes, fittings and accessories. It also indicates performance requirements for all components, including joints.

Diese Europäische Norm gilt für Bauteile von Leitungen aus Gußeisen zur Erstellung, normalerweise als Freispiegelleitungen, von Gebäudeentwässerungssystemen sowie von Grundstückentwässerungsleitungen und Anschlußkanälen. Der Nennweitenbereich umfaßt DN 40 bis einschließlich DN 600. Diese Norm enthält Anforderungen an Werkstoffe, Maße und Grenzabmaße, mechanische Eigenschaften, Beschaffenheit, Norm-Beschichtungen und die Qualitätssicherung für gußeiserne Rohre, Formstücke, und Zubehörteile.

La présente norme européenne s'applique aux composants de canalisation en fonte a utiliser pour réaliser, normalement en évacuation gravitaire, les réseaux d'évacuation des bâtiments ainsi que les branchements d'assainissement. La gamme des diametres nominaux s'étend du DN 40 au DN 600 inclus. La présente norme européenne spécifie les prescriptions pour les matériaux, les dimensions et les tolérances, les propriétés mécaniques, l'aspect, les revetements standards et l'assurance qualité des tuyaux, raccords et accessoires en fonte.
